Bret Hart participated in a virtual signing event recently with Signed By Superstars and responded to Brock Lesnar’s recent comments. He dubbed “The Beast” the “Killer” as his dream match opponent (unfortunately, Hart retired long before Lesnar was on the WWE main roster) and Hart responded by saying, “I heard I was his [Brock Lesnar] Dream match. That was just a week ago I heard it. I always heard that Brock was a good worker. I never heard that before [Lesnar was stiff in the ring]. He’d always hear the exact opposite, that he sounds stiff, but he’s a true pro in the ring. Quite the opposite of Goldberg.”
He was also asked about rumors that he might go to AEW because FTR had been teasing online that he could become their new manager after he sacked the duo, Tully Blanchard. Hart acted as if he hadn’t heard anything about her, saying “Go over there [to AEW] And what to do?” (h/t wrestling).
You probably noticed the shot that Hart took at Goldberg during that first quote. Da Man was the one who caused Hart the concussion that ended his career as a full-time wrestler when the two clashed in the main event at Starrcade 1999, and Hart has made a number of derogatory comments about him since.

Back then, there were a lot of people who gave their opinions and you didn’t know if their best interest was at the heart of their heart, you didn’t know if they had the company’s best interest at heart or your best interest at heart. I won’t sit around and complain about anything, I’ll just go out and try to do my job.
He added, “I would have loved working a little bit more with Bret Hart and I would have loved more than anything if I hadn’t kicked Bret Hart in the head and what happened happened.” “There were things that either Brett or other people said that I was mean and he shouldn’t have been in the ring with me. I’m really sorry, man, but if I really wanted to hurt the guy, he never got up.”
